Google researchers report a substantial breakthrough with their “Quantum Echoes” algorithm, which they ran on its Willow 105-qubit quantum chip. According to the company, this algorithm significantly outperforms classical supercomputing on specific tasks — nearly 13,000× faster in their benchmark cases involving NMR-type molecular structure simulations. The algorithm’s design allows repeated “pinging” of the quantum system to correct and verify qubit states without collapsing coherence.
