Researchers in China have achieved quantum teleportation of photonic quantum states across an optical fiber network spanning more than 100 kilometers. By using ultra-low-loss fiber and optimized entangled-photon sources, they demonstrated high-fidelity teleportation of polarization states. This development could serve as a technical foundation for a quantum fiber network that reliably transmits qubits over long distances, enabling future quantum internet infrastructure. The experiment represents a major step forward in practical quantum communication.
