For the first time, scientists have observed a spinning black hole dragging and twisting the fabric of spacetime itself—a phenomenon known as “frame-dragging” or Lense-Thirring precession. Using data from a tidal disruption event (AT2020afhd) where a star was torn apart, researchers detected the wobbling path of the resulting debris disk. This observation confirms a century-old prediction of Einstein’s General Relativity and provides a new tool for measuring how black holes launch massive jets of energy into the universe.
