Volvo has confirmed that its EX60 electric SUV, debuting in early 2026, will utilize Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology. In this product, the battery isn’t just in the car; it is the floor and structural frame of the car. This removes the need for a separate battery pack, reducing weight by 25% and increasing range significantly. This marks the moment “The Structural Battery” moves from a laboratory experiment to a product you can park in your driveway.
